Blackberry Curve Review
Overall we found the Blackberry Curve to be an excellent device for typing emails and SMS, calling and surfing the Internet. The Blackberry Curve is Research in Motion's (RIM's) second big smartphone sold through AT&T.
The Blackberry Curve is a bit bigger than RIM's previous Blackberry Pearl. This is not a bad thing because typing on the Blackberry Curve's full QWERTY keyboard is much easier than on the Pearl.
Similar to the Blackberry Pearl you use a track ball on the Blackberry Curve to navigate around the device's applications. Also, the function keys are located on the bottom of the screen.
If you compare the side surfaces of the Pearl and the Curve you'll find that the Curve is slightly more pleasant to hold in your hand thanks to a soft touch paint job.
On the left of the phone you'll find a 3.5mm headphone jack and USB, and on the right you'll find the volume control. On the back of the phone you'll find the camera, flash and small mirror.
If you use the track ball to scroll over the messaging function you'll find that email and SMS message are located in the same place. This is extremely convenient.
To make a call scroll the track ball over the phone icon. You can bring up a list of previously used numbers and make a call. Or if you want you can type in the name of a contact and call the person that way. You may also email or SMS the person from here.
To access your music, videos and ring tones use the track ball to scroll over the multimedia icon. You'll find that your songs very quick to scroll through using the track ball. To view your pictures use the track ball to scroll over the photo icon.
You'll find that the album feature is stronger on the Blackberry Curve than on the Blackberry Pearl. One great feature is that you can SMS or email pictures to anybody on your contact list from inside the album.
