Rolex Sea Dweller 116660 Review
The Rolex Sea Dweller has been many peoples' most cherished watches for decades. Unfortunately the company discontinued the watch and replaced it with the Deepsea model, making the Sea Dweller extremely rate and sought after.
Beautiful rolex black bezel
The Sea Dweller by is one of my favorite Rolex watches by far. I especially enjoy the black-on-black look with the uni-directional rotating bezel. The watches' case and band are made of a beautiful high-quality stainless steel.
The Sea-Dweller has a smooth crystal surface
A key thing which makes the Rolex Sea Dweller different from other Rolex watches is that it does not have a cyclopse (also known as magnifying glass or bubble) to display the date. This is because the watches' crystal is already very thick and adding a bubble would make the watch look too wide. This also gives the watch a more stream-lined look.
Seadweller - beautiful rounded hour hands helps indicate time
While the dial has writing on it giving some specs this writing is not intrusive in any way. The bezel is made of beautiful pearl with glowing paint for the watches' hands. One unique aspect about the Sea Dwellers' hands is that the hour hand is rounded which allows you to see the minute hand when it passes over. Many other watch comapnies have copied this feature.
The Sea-Dweller is a serious divers watch
The Sea Dweller is a serious diving watch as it has an extraordinary helium escape valve which allows the watch to not be damaged in diving decompression chambers. Also, the watch has an extremely waterproof crown which easily screws in and out and the bracelet has an extremely useful extension feature which allows the watch to be worn over a wetsuit.

One other feature which distinguishes the Rolex Sea Dweller is that there is writing on the back case. This is the only Rolex to have writing on the back. It's such a pity that Rolex discontinued this watch model. Lucky there are some still available at reasonable prices.
